CDI?

Does anybody know how do burn a cdi image in Linux, this is driving me crazy. Im trying to make a Dreamcast cd.... for..backups ... so i dont scratch my original copy.. anyway, i tried making an converting it to an iso and doing that, but it wont work. What i really need is a native linux app to slap that thing on a disk while its in the .cdi format.
