GPD devices

Hey guys!

I am looking for a gift for my wife (anniversary). She has to drive all over the DFW area for work and she prints out maps from Google everytime she has to go somewhere. So I am thinking a GPS device. The only real requirement is that it needs to be easy to use (aka: high WAF). I know there was a big conversation about GPS devices at one of the meetings in the old building, but that was too long ago for me to remember all the details. So I thought I would ask you guys to see what you used and what you recommended.

So far here is what I have found on my own.

Low range:
98$. Cheapest I can get off Newegg. Since I don't know how well she is going to like this / use it I am not sure if I want to drop more $$ on it.

High range (This actually sits on the precipice of my savings for this gift ) :
190$. Best rating on Newegg. This means a lot. It also has free traffic updates

Way-High range:
400$. From everything I have read this is the best product. It has a ton of cool features. It is also about 4 times what I want to pay. In fact at my current savings rate, I won't be able to afford it for some time anyway Still it is a good reference for the items on the wish-list.

One other thought. Since I have never owned a GPS before and I don't really know how my wife will like / react to / use one, I could just get the cheapest Newegg has. Which is 70$. However, some models get one free map update while others don't. Seems to be pot-luck.

If she does a lot of driving, she may want one that has traffic updates. I picked up a Garmin nuvi 255WT, recently. It seems to work well. It has the lifetime traffic which is supported via advertising. If you can hold off until the next meeting, I'll have it available so you can have a look at it.

Since I used a bunch of gift cards to purchase it, I can't tell you exactly what it cost, right now. I want to say it ran about $220.00 + tax.

Newegg is having a sale on the Garmin 255. I have not made a decision yet but I think I am going to go with this. A lot of people seem to be happy with it.
