The fort worth central library downtown has a meeting room that is available for rent. Here is a picture of the inside.



They charge 15$ an hour for non-profits (the regular rate is $35). I have talked to the people responsible for renting the room and they say that the LUG can get the 15$ rate.

Its an option, and at 15$ it is not very expensive. I imagine we could get a sponsor to sponsor a meeting or two at that price. Lets talk about it next meeting.

Anyway. This room has wireless? Think the Library has a problem with bringing in equipment?

It does look nice.

I guess they have the standard PCs for people to use. Maybe we can trade technical expertise for free room usage.

Actually the library holds basic computer classes and always needs volunteers to help with the classes. You just have to fill out a volunteer application.

I don't think the library would go for a trade, but I will look into it. Also, I will try to ask a few companies if they would sponsor a meeting.

As far as equipment, I don't think there is a problem, but I will ask.
